Coordinator of District Maintenance
- Coordinated day to day operations for 10 school facilities, 150 housing units and various support buildings located within a District covering 88,000 square miles and valued at over $300,000,000 dollars. Responsibilities included coordination of maintenance, custodial, warehousing, purchasing and other support services divisions.
- Provided project management on various capital improvement projects including design review, construction coordination, punch-list development and building start-up.
- Served as District AHERA Designated Person involved in oversight of AHERA Management Plan including asbestos training, containment, monitoring abatement and disposal when needed.
- Oversaw design, development, startup and upgrades of District-wide satellite linked building automation system(Johnson Controls) valued at over 1.5 million dollars.
- Converted and upgraded computerized preventative maintenance system to PSDIs Maximo Windows Based System. Oversaw and implemented changes to streamline system to increase effectiveness and reduce manpower load and equipment failure.
- Standardized custodial procedures, equipment and products for ease of maintenance and reduced negative environmental impact resulting in cost savings to the District..
- Reduced material inventory and stock requirements by standardizing where possible, centralizing storage of redundant high cost parts and materials, and defining critical parts needed at remote sites.
- Implemented a staff development training program to assist employees in developing skills required to meet District needs. This was accomplished by working with the college and other North Slope Borough departments to develop courses that focused on maintenance skills required to perform daily tasks.
- Improved maintenance response time and customer satisfaction by development of evening work crews, refinement of itinerant trade crews for village support, and emphasizing maintenances role in customer service.
- Developed and implemented numerous training and S.O.P. programs to bring the District in compliance with local, state and federal mandates and regulations. Programs started include MSDS/Right to Know, Monthly Safety Meetings, Respirator Fit Testing, Energy Conservation Incentive Program, Fire Extinguisher Inspection Certification, Asbestos Awareness and Abatement Training and Certification, Electrical Lock-out/Tag-out Program, HAZMAT, HAZWOPPER, and low pressure boiler vessel certifications
